Chemical Peels

Also called chemofoliation is a non surgical procedure in which we apply a chemical agent called peels to the skin so as to cause superficial exfoliation.

Peels basically remove the dead layer of skin apart from treating the fine lines, wrinkles, reduces the pigmentation etc.

The procedure is followed by application of face mask (skin lightening)mask. Peeling can be combined with other procedures like laser resurfacing , microdermabrasion et c. for better results. 6-8 sessions are what we recommend at our clinic , spaced once in 2weeks. Later the patient could continue like maintainence which is absolutely safe to do so. The whole procedure takes about 20 mins.

In this procedure, there is mechanical abrasion of the skin/superficial resurfacing techniques in which skin surface is abrased with pressurised stream of aluminium oxide crystals resulting in rejuvenation of skin.

As a result of this fine lines, wrinkles ,pores are reduced gradually and texture of skin is improved. This procedure can be combined with chemical peels, laser resurfacing alternatively for better results.

It has an added advantage of being “safe “ during pregnancy and lactation.

Electro & Radiofrequency Cautery

This procedure utilizes the heat generated using either galvanic or alternating current from a standard wall outlet leading to tissue destruction.

Electrocautery and R/F cautery has a wide range of application. This unit is used to treat many skin conditions like:-

  • Warts
  • Acrochordons
  • Molluscum contageusom
  • Seborrhoeic keratosis
  • Syringomas
  • Xanthomas  and  xanthelesma   etc
  • This is one of the safest and one time office procedure considered to be safe with  minimal/no scarring.

This procedure is performed with the help of dermaroller or “dermapen”called microneedling. The needle comes in various standards sizes varying from 0.5mm to 30mm.

Therefore depending on the condition of the patient the needle size is assessed and the procedure is performed. It is mainly used to treat acne scars besides wrinkles and facial rejuvenation.

This procedure can be combined alternatively with fractional CO2 laser for all the above mentioned procedures for better results.

Since it’s a slightly painful procedure we recommend doing it under topical anaesthesia and the procedure takes about 15-20mins. 6 sessions are recommended with 3-4 weeks interval in between successive sessions.

There are no side effects except for redness , dryness which fades off in few minutes.

Intense Pulsed Light/IPL

This machine has got multipurpose applications commonly called “IPL” which emits polychromatic light in broad ranges of wavelengths selectively filtered to target specific chromophores. (which is the added advantage of IPL)

With IPL we treat various conditions:

  • Acne Vulgaris
  • Hair removal
  • Photo rejuvenation/Facial rejuvenation/ resurfacing.
  • Pigmented skin(with freckles and sun spots)

  • This procedure is absolutely safe with no side effects and downtime.

Laser for Hair Removal (Diode)

There are variety of laser available for Hair removal or what we call unwanted Hair removal for upper lip, chin ,beard area ,Axillae, Bikini area etc.

This laser causes permanent hair reduction rather than permanent hair removal which is wrongly claimed; 6-8 sessions is recommended with an interval of 1 month between each session ;with successive sessions there will be significant percentage of hair reduction .Henceforth the patient walks in whenever there is growth of hair.

This is absolutely safe procedure and any part of the body can be treated safely.

Laser for Tattoo Removal

There are various types of lasers available for removal of tattoo like Q switched NDYAG, Ruby etc.

Here on our set up ,we use Q switched NDYAG with two different wavelength namely 1064nm and 532 nm.

Different types of pigments used by tattoo Artists include Black (carbon ,iron oxide),blue, red, green, yellow etc among which green and red are commonly used which respond best to Q switched NDYAG laser.

Tattoo removal depends on the age , colour and depth of the tattoo. Therefore depending on these factors we recommend number of sessions to the patient with 3-4 weeks interval in between consecutive sessions.

CO2 Laser

Fractional laser or commonly called as CO2 laser used for skin resurfacing.

This laser can be used to treat various conditions like mole removal, DPNs , syringoma ,warts , Angiokeratomas, Tricho ipithcliamous etc .Adenoma sebacium ,sebaceous hyperplasis performed under local anaesthesia. Besides these conditions it is considered one of the good tool for treating facial scars like chicken pox scars, keloids and herpertrophic scars, burns scars, traumatic scars.

This procedure can be combined alternatively with dermarollers and also with chemical peels (for facial rejuvenation) and anti aging.

This procedure is performed under topical anaesthesia and post procedure , there may be pain, edema, discomfort ,redness which is all minimal.

Scar Revision

What is a scar? Scar is nothing but fibrous tissues consisting mainly of collagen fibres formed during wound healing as a response to any traumatic ,surgical or inflammatory injury.

There are multiple modalities for scar revision which includes surgical and non surgical.

Here in our setup ,we explain both the options to the patient and let the patient decide accordingly.

Surgical scar revision like punch excision ,punch floatation, subcision etc are used to treat acne scars.

Non surgical scar revision are mainly performed with medications for keloids and hypertrophic scar.

Platelet Rich Plasma

P.R.P is now one of the popular and effective method of treatment for various skin and hair conditions as the plasma contains autologous platelets

different growth factors ,cytokines which help in rejuvenation of kin , hair growth etc.

The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia wherein the graft is taken from the donar site like anterior, posterior or lateral surface of the thigh and placed on the site of treatment carefully followed by dressing.

The procedure is performed under all aseptic conditions , patient is called for a follow up after 10 days to ensure whether grafts are taken which usually occurs from 8-10days

Less side effects except for graft rejection which is rare.

Nail Avulsion

Nail treatment is a part of Dermatology practice and is one of the vital structures.

Nail avulsion or removal of nail is separation of the nail plate from the underlying nail bed and nail folds.

It is a simple, inexpensive and office procedure which instantly reliefs from pain and discomfort.

Apart from all the mentioned cosmetic/aesthetic procedures we do have phototherapy unit.

Dermato surgical procedures are:-

  • Mole Excision.

  • Cyst and Corn Excision.

  • Excision of Lipoma.

All these can be done with a two way approach; surgical and laser intervention.

Surgical approach Is a bit time consuming and performed under local anaesthesia in which we apply sutures post surgery and the patient is adviced to come for suture removal after 1 week.

Laser intervention is quick , one time office procedure also done under local anaesthesia with no sutures and patient just walks out immediately after the procedure.

Both approaches is equally effective and explained to the patient and they are allowed to decide accordingly.
